Diagnostic Hearing Test 02

A Diagnostic Hearing Test is the most comprehensive form of hearing health analysis – and the best way to ensure the highest possible performance from Hearing Aids.

This form of hearing test is also ideal for occupational health/work-related requirements – or if you need a copy (hard or soft) of your Audiogram.

Different elements of human speech have different sound frequencies, which is why, in this Eye Test Chart visualisation, your sight becomes blurry one row at a time, whereas your hearing becomes muffled one sound at a time. Therefore, even with only mild hearing loss, you will hear certain parts of a sentence clearly – whereas other parts of the same sentence will be muffled or even inaudible.

This is why a Diagnostic Hearing Test measures hearing loss at multiple different sound frequencies – and this is one of many ways in which it is a superior methodology.

Download the Diagnostic Hearing Test brochure here – or call us, if you want to find out more.

Happy to Have Helped so Many 04

Fiona French

first time I have been here at Forest Row, receptionist very friendly and Stephen, who dealt with me, very friendly and made me feel relaxed and gave good advice on how to help my ears - very good service

James Akehurst

Brilliant and very fast service. Appointments for ear cleaning were available for the next day and there seemed to be plenty of time slots available. Both the staff which I spoke to were friendly and helpful. I turned up slightly early and was taken to the ear cleaning room straight away. No waiting around at all. Everything was so fine-tuned and efficient. If I have any ear-related issues in future, I would be more than happy to return to Hearology.

Barry Wells

Smart professional looking premises. Modern, up to date equipment.
Treay was with Stephen who explained the procedure before commencing and during the process.
Friendly staff - in and out in approx 20 minutes and on with my day.
Strongly recommended.

Mike Wirz

I have have nothing but good feedback to report regarding my experience with Hearology!
Thoroughly professional, personable from receptionist to clinician.
Amazingly prompt at sorting out any glitches that might occur.
Service is what a good business is about---
and ...THEY HAVE IT!
Well done Hearology!

Nathan Fuller

Absolutely faultless service. From start to finish I can't praise Hearology in Forest Row enough. The friendly receptionist booked me in super last minute and helped me through the process upon arrival. Vincent was amazing, not only providing outstanding service but having a general interest in myself, my health and history. Will definitely be coming back again. Get your ears cleared here, you won't regret it!

Katy Norris

I cannot rate Hearology highly enough - the treatment was done with sensitivity and gentleness especially as I had a burst ear drum! Due to their advice, I was able to go back to my GP and have a face to face appointment which helped in getting the correct treatment. I cannot thank them enough!

Catherine Booth

Was having problems with my balance rather than my hearing (so I thought) and have had tinitus for a couple of years in one ear.
Saw Vincent for a consultation and he clearly explained the different elements of the ear and the tests to be undertaken.
Very surprised to find that my hearing is completely out of balance (which is probably causing the tinitus).
Initial results suggest Otosclerosis, and Vincent was able to provide a specialist consultant recommendation, and emailed the test results to me to progress.
Thoroughly impressed with the service !

Mandy Gamon

Having suffered for over a week with blocked ears, seeing two different GP’s because the pain and loss of hearing was unbearable, following their advice to use olive oil 3 times a day as this would solve the problem - which it didn’t, it made them worse……I called Hearology in desperation and was offered a same day appointment with Michael at Forest Row for micro suction.
The procedure took just over 15 minutes, Michael
was extremely professional, yet very friendly at the same time which kept me at ease by showing me how it would would work and keeping me informed throughout of what was happening. The end result was amazing, blockage cleared with hearing restored instantly!
The customer service was second to none from the very beginning, a very polite, friendly and understanding service at the point of contact. A very friendly welcome on arrival by the receptionist at the clinic and once the treatment had finished she continued with this. I wasn’t rushed out of the door instead I was offered a seat and a bottle of water and was able to take my time, only leaving when I had become accustomed to the results of the procedure that had just taken place, (I did suffer with a short period of light headiness, Michael had warmed me of this and explained that it would not last for too long which it didn’t).
Definitely excellent value for money, I took my hearing for granted until I didn’t have it, albeit temporarily! Ears need to be looked after and I will be booking annual appointments with Michael to ensure that I do just that!
I will have no hesitation in booking again and would highly recommend the services of Hearology, especially the team at Forest Row - thank you for solving my problem and at such very short notice!

Susan Thomas

Due to being unable to have my ears cleared of wax at the doctors, with a 10/12 week wait, I decided to book with Hearologhy in Forest Row, after seeing good recommendations.
Appointment was on time and after having the suction on my ears, it felt amazing. It was all done very gently and I was talked through the procedure all the time.
Afterwards I had an ear test, finding out I couldn’t hear certain tones. I was given my results in paper form. An excellent experience.

Andy Kenning

It was my first time at hearology, what a first class service! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the procedure (microsuction) was painless and very quick. All elements were explained thoroughly. I'll definitely be going back. Thank you all for a sterling service.

Michael has been with Hearology since 2015 and is now a Director of the company. He is a resident of Forest Row in East Sussex and established our Shop-Clinic there. You will not meet a kinder, more generous person.

Her compassionate and patient nature ensures that her clients feel comfortable and at ease throughout their visits, which is especially important for her tinnitus clients.

Irene began to experience tinnitus in both ears as a child and, over the years, became aware of how the tinnitus was affected by noise exposure and different life events. She learned piano at a young age and her passion for instrumental and classical music remains. She bonds with her clients as a clinical professional, an active listener – and as an individual with personal experience of how healthy hearing is indispensable to every aspect of life.

The Positive Impact of Hearing Aid Usage on Dementia 09

Our brains behave like a muscle – if you stimulate them, they develop, if you don’t, they decline in effectiveness and vigour. So, it makes sense that mental decline associated with age and/or dementia will speed up if hearing loss deprives your brain of the auditory stimulation it is used to.

There is an ever-growing body of scientific research to suggest that the use of Hearing Aids can significantly DECREASE the rate of age-related cognitive decline.

The findings from this body of scientific research are clearly summarised and illustrated in an informative and independently published document that you can download right here: Hearing Care, cognitive decline and dementia: A public health challenge, or an opportunity for healthy ageing?
